The Crossing Barnes

The Crossing is a fantastic new family and dog-friendly pub on White Hart Lane in Barnes, located where The Treehouse used to be. It has had a major refurbishment by restaurant and bar operator, Christian Arden, and Star Pubs & Bars, owned by Heineken. The new pub is a premium food and drink operation, with the kitchen overseen by Chef Anthony Demetre of Arbutus fame. It serves outstanding seasonal freshly-prepared food, great beer and curated wines from lesser-known growers plus a few classics.

Like the Treehouse, The Crossing is set over two floors. On the ground floor there is a relaxed light, airy modern dining area with handmade scrubbed wooden tables and comfortable velvet settles around a zinc-covered bar and beer tap wall. There’s lots of outdoor seating at the front of the pub, with shady awnings and shrub filled planters, and a new garden terrace with an outdoor kitchen (rotisserie) at the back. Lantern lights and greenery add to the atmosphere to create a wonderful secluded garden.

Upstairs provides a comfortable dining and event space for 60, with its own private bar. It will be a social hub for events such as televised sports games, quiz nights and book clubs.  It will also be available during the day for community groups at no cost. Both floors will have wi-fi and charging points for those wanting to use the pub for work.

The menu at The Crossing includes plant-based, fish and meat dishes using outstanding British ingredients wherever possible. Simple rotisserie Sunday lunches with seasonal roasted vegetables and healthy salads are a highlight of the week, and sharing dishes and bar food is available all day.

The Crossing also has a big focus on sustainability, They use local suppliers and fresh ingredients, and minimise single-use plastic and waste. Their cellar produces consistent superior quality draught beer and cider – drinks drawn from re-useable kegs and served in glasses means there is very little waste.
